It is this time of the year when like many people, I think about making a new beginning in some aspect of life for betterment. For most of the years, I have failed, yet I keep making resolutions and trying. The year 2022 was different. I did make one small resolution each in the three aspects of life body (physical), mind (intellectual), and spirit (spiritual), and I am happy that I did succeed. The reason could be that the goals were realistic, and there was a clear “why.”

Better to make a New Year’s Resolution and try even if one fails rather than miss the opportunity.

What do you think?

Here is a short history.

The first New Year’s resolutions date back over 4,000 years ago to ancient Babylon. They were the ones to start the new year celebration. The new year then started in mid-March when the crops were planted. That is when they would promise the gods to pay their debts which was the beginning of the New Year’s resolutions.
